Michael Jordan meeting with Hornets HC finalists this week


Charlotte Hornets proprietor Michael Jordan will meet with finalists for the workforce’s head-coaching job this week,  ESPN reported on Monday. 

Based on NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Mike D’Antoni and Warriors assistant Kenny Atkinson are among the many finalists assembly with Jordan this week.

The Hornets dismissed head coach James Borrego in April after 4 seasons with the workforce.

A two-time NBA Coach of the 12 months, D’Antoni was 217-102 in his 4 seasons teaching the Houston Rockets. Over 16 seasons teaching within the league, he’s 672-527 (.560) in regular-season play and 54-56 within the playoffs. 

Atkinson went 118-190 in three-plus years after inheriting teaching tasks for the Brooklyn Nets, stepping down in 2020. He later served as an assistant coach for Los Angeles Clippers and joined Steve Kerr’s employees in Golden State forward of the Warriors’ present playoff run. 

Ought to Atkinson get the job in Charlotte, he could be the second member of Kerr’s employees to depart and coach his personal workforce. Warriors affiliate head coach Mike Brown has already accepted the job of Sacramento Kings head coach for subsequent season.
