Cookies and browser storage

Cookies are small values stored by your browser and sent with matching requests. Local storage stores values in your browser for a particular website. This page explains their use on Trendsupplier; see the privacy policy for the broader data practices.

Your analytics choice

Google Analytics stays off unless you have a valid saved acceptance. On your first visit, closing the settings without accepting does not enable analytics. If you previously accepted, simply closing settings does not withdraw that choice; select Reject analytics to withdraw it. Browsing with JavaScript disabled does not load analytics. You can use Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice later. Accept and reject are available in the same settings window.

We store your choice and the time it was made in local storage under trendsupplier.analytics-consent.v1. The choice is treated as valid for 180 days from its timestamp. Local storage does not automatically delete expired records; the stored value can remain until you clear site data or make a new choice. Clearing site data removes the choice. An expired or invalid record is not treated as acceptance. If browser storage is unavailable, analytics stays off. We use this preference storage to remember and honour your choice, not to identify you across websites.

When this website detects an enabled Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser, it keeps Google Analytics off. This describes our own analytics behaviour; it is not a statement about how a retailer responds after you follow an external link.

Google Analytics cookies

After acceptance, we load Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and interactions with shopping links. Google Analytics can set first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish browsers and maintain session information. Their expiry is determined by Google's analytics implementation and applicable browser limits; Google documents default analytics cookie lifetimes of up to two years. This is separate from our 180-day consent preference. Cookie expiry may be refreshed on later visits, so this is not necessarily a fixed two-year period from your first visit. See Google's GA4 cookie information.

Our own analytics events use page and destination URLs without query strings or fragments. The actual shopping link you follow retains its search terms and affiliate identifier. We disable Google signals and ad-personalisation signals in the site's analytics configuration.

When you reject after accepting, the site disables further analytics events, attempts to clear accessible _ga and _ga_* cookies for this site and reloads the page to stop the loaded analytics script. Browser restrictions can prevent deletion of some cookies. You can also remove this site's data using your browser settings. Changing your choice does not undo information already sent to Google. If saving a withdrawal fails, the current page keeps analytics off and shows an error; clear the site's browser data before returning if the preference cannot be saved.

Other services and external links

Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, can use cookies or similar mechanisms when needed to provide or protect the website. These do not enable our optional Google Analytics. See Cloudflare's cookie information.

Images served by external providers involve requests to those providers and are not controlled by the analytics setting. Clicking an Amazon or other external link takes you to a separate service, which may use its own cookies and policies. Affiliate attribution on Amazon is separate from this site's optional analytics.
