Anyone else notice how smart home devices are increasingly used as symbols in movies adn TV? It goes beyond just showing off cool gadgets; they often represent something deeper about the characters or the storyS themes.
For example, a house overflowing with smart tech might symbolize a character's desire for control, or their loneliness masked by automated interactions. think about how a character talks to their smart assistant - is it a genuine connection or a sad replacement for human interaction? Conversely,a character who rejects smart home tech could be portrayed as someone valuing privacy, independence,or even clinging to a simpler past.
It's interesting to see how directors and writers use these commonplace devices to visually and subtly communicate character traits and plot points. What are some examples you've seen that stood out to you, and what do you think they where trying to say? I'm curious about everyone's interpretations.
